Capsicum Paneer/ Indian Cottage cheese Masala….


Paneer and capsicum is a wonderful combination and they make a great side dish along with naans, breads or even pulao. My younger son loves paneer / cottage cheese and can eat it daily . Today I am sharing the recipe for one of his favorite Paneer capsicum masala . This is one of the best and easy masala recipes where stir-fried capsicum pieces are cooked with paneer , onion & tomatoes .

Preparation: 20-25 minutes
Serves 2-3

1 cup paneer, cubed
1 big capsicums, cut into squares
1 medium onion cut into cubes
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
4 small tomatoes quartered
1 tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste
1tbsp cooking oil
chopped cilantro / coriander for garnishing

Method :

Heat oil in a pan and add onions . Sauté onion for 2 minutes .
Add the chopped capsicum and cook till they turn slightly soft, approx 5-7 minutes.
Add turmeric powder , coriander powder , red chili powder and combine.
Add tomatoes and stir well to combine and cook for 5 mins with lid on .Add the paneer cubes and toss the contents well and cook for 5 mts.
Add garam masala powder and mix well .
Finally garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rotis or bread of your choice .



  1. I could eat paneer daily, too, just straight up. It goes well with so many things, but I particularly like with spinach and with tomato based sauce, so this one looks like a winner for me. Do you often make your own paneer? Thank you for bringing to the party!
