Here’s a recipe to make yummy and Spicy Potato . These potatoes can be served as a side or as an appetizer. This is a very versatile dish prepared with very less oil & one can add or remove spices according to their taste . Salt, Chili powder , Turmeric powder & lemon juice are the only necessary spices which needs to be added . You have to cook it on a low flame untill the potatoes turn crispy and all the spices stick to the potatoes
This recipe serves 4
Boiled Potatoes – 5 med., cubed
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida – 1/8 tsp
Turmeric Powder/Haldi – 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – to taste
Amchur/Dry Mango Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala 1 tsp
Lemon / lime Juice – to taste
Cilantro – 1/2 cup , finely chopped
Green Chillies – to taste, finely chopped
Peel and Cube Boiled Potatoes,
In a pan, heat Oil on medium heat . Once the Oil is hot, add in CuminSeeds and allow them to pop. Add in Asafoetida, Turmeric Powder & Green Chillies .
Now add the boiled and cubed potatoes and sauté for a min or two .
Add salt and all the dry spices to the potatoes.
Mix well but gently..
Cook the Potatoes till they are heated all the way through and further if you want them caramelized.
Sprinkle some Lemon or Lime Juice and Cilantro. Mix well.
Serve as a side dish or as an appetizer.
