Chicken lollipops ( Drums In Heaven )

Chicken lollipops is a very popular street food in Indian Chinese cuisine . It is usually served with Szechuan as well as Sweet Chili Garlic Sauce.
These scrumptious Chicken lollipops are made from the middle and inner segments of chicken wings. The middle segment has one of the two bones removed, and the flesh on the segments is pushed to one end of the bone. These are then coated in a spicy red batter and deep fried. This dish can be found at all Indian-Chinese restaurants & is so simple, yet so delicious . Kids and adults favor this delicacy alike.

Ingredient :

1lbs Chicken Wings de skinned and made into lollipop ( you can even use chicken drumsticks )

For Marination :

cornflour – 1/2 cup
soya sauce – 2 tblsp.
vinegar – 1 tsp
Red chilli paste – 1 tbs OR Schezwan Sauce ( i used Schezwan Sauce )
Ginger paste – 2 tsp.
Garlic paste – 1 tsp.
Lemon juice 1 tbs
Egg 1
salt – to taste
Oil for frying

You can find the recipe for Homemade Schewan Sauce here

Method :

Dry the chicken pieces with paper towel to remove excess water.
Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients under ‘marination’ for minimum 2 hours ( I marinated over night )
When ready to serve, deep fry the lollipops and serve hot with sauce and dips of your choice .

I Serve them hot with Schezuan & sweet chili sauce.

Keep the lollypops inverted in the frying pan to get a rounded shape.

When serving, wrap the bone end in aluminium foil to make it easy for your guests to eat this appetizer .

You can even bake these lollipops .

    1. Thank you Angie . We love chicken wings too . These are great but were a real pain to turn them into lollipops as it was my first time doing so .

      1. Haha…. I saw it done once on TV. It looked very time-consuming, but would be great for a party. Thanks for going through with it and bringing to the fiesta. Much appreciated! πŸ™‚
